The Journal for the Study of Sephardic and Mizrahi Jewry is a refereed, peer reviewed academic journal. Created to fill a lacuna in academic publications, the journal’s purpose is to provide an online platform for scholars to publish original, academic work that explores salient aspects within this burgeoning field of study.
As an Interdisciplinary Journal, it seeks to cover all regions, epochs, and aspects of the Sephardic and Mizrahi Jewish experience, including, but not limited to: history, culture, philosophy, jurisprudence, mysticism, art, languages, rituals, ethnicity, inter-religious dialogue, politics, religious customs, life in Israel and life in the Diaspora.
The Editorial Board includes Abraham Lavender, Hillel Abramson, Yaakov Ariel, Monique R. Balbuena, Samantha Baskind, Ruth Behar, Pinhas Giller, Yuval Harari, Moshe Idel, Dana Kaplan, Mark Kligman, Bruce A. Phillips, Ronit Meroz, Daniel J.
