The importance of the testing and assessment of languages is undisputed. A great responsibility lies on the shoulders of those involved in the field. Yet, can we be sure that this testing and assessment is carried out in a truly professional way? Any profession places demands, for example on training and a code of good practice. This conference will take up central issues underlying the professionalism in our field.
