Brief Description of Duties/Responsibilities:
The Department of World Languages and Cultures at Rutgers University at Camden seeks a full-time, non-tenure-track instructor to teach, coordinate, and develop curriculum for all levels of Spanish for the Professions (primarily Health Professions). The successful candidate will have at least one Master’s degree in Spanish, substantial experience teaching at a university level, and demonstrable expertise in medical Spanish. Preference will be given to candidates with certifications in translation and interpretation such as «Bridging the Gap». Native or near-native proficiency in both Spanish and English is essential.
Duties of the position include the design and implementation of a curriculum in Spanish for the Professions, potentially including a Translation Certificate program, the supervision and coordination of instructors teaching courses in this professional track, and participation in various forms of experiential learning activities.
Normal teaching load is 4 courses per semester with one course reduction for coordination purposes.
Salary will be commensurate to the candidate’s aptitude and experience, with excellent benefits. The position is a one-year position with the possibility of renewal. Rutgers offers an NTT career path with possibilities for long-term renewal and promotion to NTT Assistant Professor and upward through the ranks.
