This is a one-day workshop on Second Language Acquisition. The workshop is directed to graduate and advanced undergraduate students, language teachers and anyone interested in getting an overview of current research in the acquisition, teaching and learning of a second language.


Minimum education level: final year undergraduates.


Programme:


9:00-9:20: Registration

9:20-9:30: Welcome and presentation

9:30-11:00: Session 1. On crosslinguistic variation and Second Language Acquisition by Drs. María J. Arche and Sarah A. Liszka (University of Greenwich)

11:00-11:15: Coffee break

11:15-12:15: Session 2. On Bilingualism by Professor Silvina Montrul (University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign)

12:15-13:00: Lunch

13:00-14:00: Session 3. On motivation, by Dr Florentina Taylor (University of Greenwich).

14:00-14:15: break

14:15-15:45: Session 4. On Input Processing and Instruction related Issues, by Professor Alessandro Benati and Dr Cécile Laval.

15:45-16:00: Break

16:00-16:45: Final discussion

17:00-18:00: Wine reception
