(Reino Unido, 1949). Traductora de español y portugués al inglés, ha traducido las obras de Carmen Martín Maite, Javier Marías, José Reigo. Ha sido galardonada con el premio Oxford-Weidenfeld Translation Prize en el año 2000 y en 2011 por sus traducciones de las obras de José Saramago y en 2006 por su traducción de «Your Face Tomorrow 1: Fever and Spear» de Javier Marías. En 1997, fue también galardonada con el International Dublin Literary Award winner for translation of «A Heart So White» de Javier Marías y la Embajada de España en Reino Unido junto al Instituto Cervantes por la mejor traducción de «Your Face Tomorrow 1: Fever and Spear» de Javier Marías.
