En esta tesis doctoral se analizan los orígenes históricos del microrrelato en la literatura española, situados en el periodo comprendido entre el inicio del modernismo y el final de las vanguardias. Se centra para ello en el estudio de la obra micronarrativa de escritores como Juan Ramón Jiménez, Ramón Gómez de la Serna y Federico García Lorca. Asimismo, se examina la obra de algunos antecedentes internacionales del género, tales como Edgar Allan Poe, Charles Baudelaire o Rubén Darío. Previamente, se establecen ciertos parámetros conceptuales, terminológicos y metodológicos en torno a la minificción literaria y el microrrelato y se define a este último como género literario independiente, incidiendo en sus diferencias con respecto a otros géneros narrativos como el cuento, a géneros líricos como el poema en prosa o a géneros didáctico-ensayísticos como la fábula, el bestiario, el aforismo, la greguería, la parábola, el ejemplo, la anécdota o la columna de opinión.
This doctoral thesis examines the historical origins of the short-short story in Spanish literature, which are located in the period between the beginning of modernism and the end of the avant-garde. For that purpose, it focuses on the study of the micronarrative work of writers like Juan Ramón Jiménez, Ramón Gómez de la Serna and Federico García Lorca. In the same way, it analyzes the work of some international predecessors of the genre, such as Edgar Allan Poe, Charles Baudelaire and Rubén Darío.
Previously, certain conceptual, terminological and methodological parameters are established about microliterature and the short-short story, being the latter defined as an independent genre. In addition to this, the focus is made upon the short-short story differences with regard to other narrative genres like the story, to lyric genres such as the prose poem or to didactic genres like the fable, the bestiary, the aphorism, the greguería, the parable, the example, the anecdote or the opinion column.
