Assistant Professor in Spanish (9 month appointment)

Description of Primary Duties
- Teach three courses per semester in the undergraduate and graduate Spanish programs, including courses in contemporary Latin American and Mexican narrative
- Advise majors and minors in the Spanish program
- Conduct scholarly research in area of expertise
- Serve on departmental, college, and university committees 

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
- The minimum acceptable qualifications for the position of Assistant Professor are prescribed in the Faculty Handbook. The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds is required. 

Additional Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Spanish or Comparative Literature 
- Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish (ACTFL Superior or similar)
- Prior university-level teaching experience
- Ability to work with students from diverse cultural backgrounds
