Assistant Professor of Spanish (Foreign Languages and Literatures)

The Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at Queensborough Community College invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor starting Spring 2018.

Qualifications:
Ph.D. degree in Spanish, Applied Linguistics or Second-Language Acquisition from an accredited institution of higher education.
Prior teaching experience in an undergraduate academic setting, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.

Other qualifications:
- Experience and demonstrated effectiveness teaching Spanish at the community/junior college-level.
- Experience teaching Spanish for Career Professionals: Business/Medical; an innovative perspective and non-traditional approach to pedagogy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Spanish and English; experience and commitment to work effectively in a culturally diverse environment.
