Tenure-track Position in Modern Spanish Peninsular Literature and Culture

The Department of Romance Languages and Literatures invites applications for a tenure-track position in Modern Spanish Peninsular Literature and Culture (18th -21st centuries) to begin August 2018.  Possible subfields may include modern Portuguese literature, Catalan or other Peninsular Regional Studies, Hispano-Arabic Studies, Immigration and Border Studies, Human Rights, Gender Studies, Iberian Cinema, among others. With over 250 majors, an excellent interdisciplinary environment, and a strong commitment to graduate education, the program of Iberian and Latin American Studies is thriving and plays a key role in the University’s goal of enhancing its mission-aligned national and international reputation for research and teaching in the Humanities. Ph.D. in hand by May 2018, native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English and (if applicable to the candidate’s particular field) in Portuguese or Catalán, and demonstrable commitment to teaching, research and publication required. The teaching load is two courses per semester at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels.
