Assistant Professor of Spanish

The teaching load is 3-3 and will include foundational courses for teacher licensure students each spring. Other duties include participating in the Spanish Club, advising majors, directing senior capstones, and performing service assignments at the departmental and university level. 

Minimum Qualifications: 
Ph.D. from an accredited institution conferred no later than June 1, 2018. Primary specialization in foreign language pedagogy and secondary emphasis in Latin American studies. Two years of experience teaching Spanish at the university level with demonstrated commitment to current ACTFL guidelines. Evidence of excellence in undergraduate instruction, active involvement in student-oriented activities, and a well-defined research agenda. Native or near-native command of Spanish and a professional level of English. Excellent communication, mentoring, and interpersonal skills. Ability to interact effectively in a multi-language department. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the University?s sponsorship.
