Reassessing the Roles of Women as "Makers" of Medieval Art and Architecture

We are building a genealogical database for the royal families of Europe between ca. 1000 and ca. 1200. We are focussing in particular on women, which means that we are interested in the sisters, daughters, and aunts who may never have married, or who married away to another family. In the development of this database, we have not seen examples of other genealogical projects with a strictly medieval focus, much less any with a specific focus on women. We would like to know if any of you have experience building or working with such complex genealogies, and what suggestions you might have for us as we develop our own genealogical database.
